Guest House Country Style Bedroom Suite
When creating a country style bedroom look to combine a mix of rich woods with a palette of soft neutral colors. Cozy yet luxurious bedding, feather duvets, blankets or throws. Accent with patterned decorative pillows in floral or lace inspired fabrics. The idea is to keep the room feeling light and serene with an etherial feeling that is delightful and charming.
I love creating elegant pretty bedrooms where one can immerse oneself into delicate fabrics, soft textures and a feeling of old world charm and that was the idea behind this Guest House Bedroom space.
This space had an abundance of neat architectural character, whitewashed brick accent wall, ceiling beams and slanted walls, deciding which was the best orientation for everything was key.
Positioning the bed against the brick wall enhanced the look of the wood trim on the headboard of the bed and the entire look of the room plus fit snuggly between the slanted wall and opening to the closet.
The key to this bedroom's fresh look is an eclectic mix of traditional and modern cottage decor, together with light fabrics and textures and that little touch of accent color in pale pink, having a neutral clean color palette allows you to play and experiment with textures and graceful accent colors.
The furniture is a mix of old with new, and ensures that the bedroom is unique and personal. When looking for furniture, consider pieces with character and meaning rather than buying a matching bedroom set, warm it up with an eclectic mix of pieces. Country Bedroom ideas come from flea market finds, vintage pieces and collectibles that are quaint and have character. Consignment stores are perfect for finding larger items like tables and dressers.
Finally, for lighting we choose a statement piece crystal chandelier to bring a modern and elegant feel to the space, recessed lighting in between the wood beams provided soft general lighting throughout the space.
At the end of your day, your bedroom should be the place that you ultimately retreat to away from the noise and activity of life, a place to escape, relax and, most importantly rest.
