High Rise Executive Office Space for the Aviation Enthusiast...
Creating an office space with a theme in mind is always fun! Offices convey a personal taste which is far from the offices we are reminded of in years past. From my experience, these were particularly lifeless and boring environments, cold white walls with maybe a couple of outdated pictures with no relation to each other, miss matched offices cubicles with worn carpets that had seen better days and of course the most obnoxious florescent lighting.
Thankfully office spaces have come along way and are designed with the office personnel in mind. Being in an attractive office environment helps both mentally and physically and increases productivity, so a win win! If you are fortunate enough to have your own office or designated office area, try to incorporate some of the same personal tastes as you would have for your home to your office space.
The theme for this particular modern office is for the Aviation Enthusiast who has a love for the design and science of airplanes.
Inspiration
When looking for some inspiration ideas for a place to start we found a couple of artwork pieces that were perfectly suited and from there were able to draw out color from those ideas and create this rich, bold color palette.
Color Palette
With such a bold color scheme, a bold statement needs to be had, so what better way than to integrate a full wall mural? This was the perfect way to incorporate a unique and most definitely a conversation piece to add both style and drama to that area of the office. I just fell in love with the idea of taking up the entire wall surface area with a mural rather than just an oversized piece of artwork and was so taken back when I saw this image, not only was it so eye catching, but the intensity of colors, the thunderous cloud backdrop and the huge image of plane coming towards you in to land, impressive…..just had to have it in the design concept!
Fabrics
For this particular Executive space, leather looking chairs create such a professional environment in an office and add a certain degree of luxury too. Leather is long lasting and durable and can stand the test of time, so a great choice for guest chairs or pieces that are used again and again. These complementing Office Swivel and Guest Chairs were so office worthy and cutting edge, they were a must have.
Furniture
Deciding on furniture is a personal choice and with this particular design a trendy modern vintage appeal suited this aviation themed office.
To find something that was equally as sophisticated as the office chairs, this classically inspired mahogany Sawhorse Desk in a complementary rich black with brass accents made for such a grandeur piece and appearance of style, it’s as though it was made especially for this space:)
For storage needs and a display area, this stunning Shadow Box inspired Media Console was the quintessential piece, and exuded both quality and class and complemented the desk just beautifully.
Lighting
It is important to consider your lighting requirements in an office. A good lighting plan takes into consideration all three lighting types, General, Task and Accent. Consider the shape and size of the room and whether it has ample natural lighting or whether you will need to bring in a variety of lighting options to accommodate your needs when working at the office. If you have windows you can assume that you will get a lot of natural light if you are lucky enough to be seated near them. If however you are further into a room then you should have some form of overhead lighting options in the form of suspended ceiling lights or LED linear fixtures. For this personal office, track lighting or recessed lighting on dimmers provide for overall general lighting and table lamps and floor lamps provide both accent and decorative lighting.
Accents & Accessories
Those all important finishing touches that help bring a personal touch to a space. Bring in those accent pieces, cozy textures, pictures and sentimental pieces that make you happy and for a moment a time to slip away and reminisce.
