Hollywood Icon Inspired Home Office
There is such a demand for home office design in that many are choosing and/or required to work from home at the moment during this extremely unprecedented time! Being that an office is extremely personalized to the needs of the individual user or to that of the business itself, it requires you to spend some considerable time working in it. So with that said, try to make it inviting, pleasing to the eye and comfortable. Consider creating a space that you truly enjoy going to every day, rather than a lonely sterile cubicle space!
This particular office space was Inspired by the Hollywood Icon Audrey Hepburn and the Movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. First if you haven’t seen the movie you should, if you are a hopeless romantic who enjoys good old classic movies once in a while, like “Casablanca” or “An Affair to Remember” then this book or movie is beautifully entertaining.
Before starting any design, finding an inspiration piece helps greatly. This was the case with this stunning oversized Pencil & Pen drawing of Audrey Hepburn. There are so many designs of our Hollywood Icons to choose from, this one in particular set the stage for the color palette and the theme, glamorous, refined and sophisticated.
Black and white exudes class and sophistication so combining these two colors made for such an elegant richness to the space. The accent down lighting and sputnik ceiling fixture provides plentiful illumination throughout as using these colors as we did, a room could easily become quite dark.
I personally love an accent wall and the dimension it gives to a room, whether it is a bold patterned wall paper or an articulate paint application, both make for a very decorative focal point in any room. The suggestion of bold stripes were an extension of the ceiling effect that we continued in to the space up on to the back wall.
Keeping things classic with a modern touch, I thought these beautiful ornate upholstered guest chairs would pair perfectly with the stylish yet simple lucite and acrylic writing desk.
Simple large gold framed wall mirrors stacked on top of each other gives a modern stylish spin on things as well as providing additional reflective ability to make a room feel much lighter and brighter.
Finally, a pop of color can be incorporated in several ways, and I felt in addition to the turquoise in the drawing and the accent pillows, this space needed something that would just jump out at you and make a statement. For that, I found this stunning Impressionistic Peony painting that had some of the most brilliant, vibrant and intense colors in it, it was a piece that just made you smile and feel energized and happy, it was just the perfect contrast of colors to complete the space,
